A fun fall getaway…

On your travels to the Outer Banks, perhaps on route to the Hatteras Lighthouse, spend a little time in Rodanthe. A two-lane road (Highway 12) running through a stretch of land that spans 1/2 mile to a few hundred feet wide in some places will take you to a prominent surf spot in the Outer Banks, known as the “S-turns” to surfers. The first beach home you arrive at is the home where they filmed “Nights in Rodanthe”. If you go West an 1/8 mile you will hit water again – the Pamlico Sound, which is a famous spot for world class kiteboarding. You’ll notice as you drive through this area that the dunes have been built up. Hurricanes have busted through the dunes and unfortunately the “Nights in Rodanthe” house is nearing the end of its life span due to the constant eroson of ‘Noreasters. The Outer Banks is also very pet friendly. This photo of our French Mastiff, Mali, was taken in the Rodanthe dunes. But anyway, back to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland for now. www.DeepCreekLakeProperty.com
